Here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Kansas City, we have had the privilege of working with many homeowners and business owners in the area. This community has trusted us to light their homes, gardens, and workplaces for many years, and we appreciate the trust and the confidence you have in us. Because of this, we believe it is only fair for us to give back to the community that has treated us so well. We are fortunate to be able to do this fiscally through monetary donations and auction donations to some very deserving organizations. In addition to donations, we try to educate others about these organizations and their important work.
Our goals of giving back are very specific. When a client purchases outdoor lighting products that total over $2500.00 or above, we make a donation in that client’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Tom Karlin Foundation. The American Cancer Society is a non-profit organization that educates the public, supports those battling the disease, and funds research to continue a search for better cancer treatments and, ultimately, a cure for the disease. The Tom Karlin Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides support for teen depression and suicide prevention. Clients can choose which organization to which they would like the donation made, and they may even donate in honor or memory of someone. For most of us, cancer or mental illness has impacted our lives, directly or indirectly through a loved one.
Supporting The Boulevard of Dreams
We also have had the opportunity to support The Boulevard of Dreams – a benefit for the Dream Factory of Kansas City through auction donations. This organization is committed to making dreams come true for critically or chronically ill children. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Kansas City annually donates a $1,000 lighting package to this organization’s auctions, which raise much-needed funds to help these children’s dreams come true.
Giving back is important. Giving time by volunteering, giving funds, and giving thoughts that can turn into conversations and spread awareness are all ways that we can help our communities. Join us by making a personal commitment to give back to our community. It could be through one of the wonderful organizations listed above or another that is important to you. Together, we can make a difference in the place we call home.
