sunflower Here at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Kansas CIty we are adament about helping out in the community and giving back to those who need to support a great cause. We try to reach out and help local causes and causes that are close to our hearts whenever we can. This month we teamed up with over 12 local contractors through Kansas City NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) in volunteering labor and donated materials to make some much-needed improvements at Sunflower House.

Many of the improvements were outlined in a recent press release via The Kansas City Star. In addition to the improvements that included the addition of deck stairs, and a new shed to house outdoor equipment there were many more improvements made. Our role involved adding much-need lighting to the Sunflower House sign so it may shine like a beacon of hope in the evening.  It was an immensely rewarding experience to know we did something to help their cause to be part of a project that can help make a difference in the life of local families. We found it immensely rewarding to partner with other NARI members at Sunflower House, and hope to continue serving our community whenever possible.

Outdoor Lighting at Sunflower House for sign Kansas City

In case you aren’t familiar with the Sunflower House, it is a child abuse prevention center that serves Johnson and Wyandotte counties. They work closely with the local authorities to ensure a child is evaluated and protected when allegations of abuse have been made.  We love that they are striving to help kids and their families who need a helping hand during a difficult to time in their lives so that they can be assisted in a time of crisis.

As the holidays approach it’s easy to get caught up in all the festivities and stress that come with the season, and we feel it’s the perfect time to pause for a moment and help other local causes and families who need assistance in a time of crisis or difficulty. It’s also a great message to send to your kids too! So, take the time to consider working with an organization such as Sunflower House in your local area, as they are often eager to take on dedicated volunteers. Even if you do not have the time, you can help make a difference through a donation, you can also visit their website and help by donating items on their wish list as well!
