When you choose to invest in Kansas City outdoor lighting, you’re expecting aesthetic beauty. But enhancing your home isn’t just a onetime thing. The fixtures may only be placed once, but in order to keep your landscape looking captivating, they must be maintained on a regular basis. Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Kansas City had the opportunity recently to give a facelift to a commercial waterfall in the area. We got to show the owners of this commercial property what a small amount of maintenance can do to keep an outdoor lighting system looking perfect.
This picture was taken before we repositioned the lighting on the pine trees and added two additional fixtures.
We first surveyed the commercial waterfall in the evening to see what needed to be done. It has been several years since our initial installation and we found the pine trees around the water feature had grown and were blocking the fixtures from illuminating properly. The nighttime survey allowed us to determine where to reposition the fixtures on the now larger pine trees. We also decided that two additional fixtures would really bring out the beauty of this water feature since it is visible from three angles on this busy street. You can see in our ‘Before’ photo that the underwater lighting we used still looks great, however, the pine trees were no longer highlighted as they should be. These small adjustments made to the lighting turned the feature into perfection as seen in our ‘After’ photo.
This photo was taken after we repositioned the fixtures on the pine trees. Notice how they are truly illuminated now as well as the sides of the waterfall with the additional lighting.
It’s amazing how much of a difference a little upkeep can make to your outdoor lighting system. Whether or not you have a waterfall in your own backyard, it’s important to make sure everything is getting the proper maintenance it deserves. Often times, various kinds of debris can dirty up light fixtures and cause distortion. Remember to simply wipe the top of the cover off to prevent this problem. If you haven’t looked into light covers for your outdoor well lights, now would be a great time to do so. They prevent anything from getting into the fixtures themselves and allow you to avoid any extra cleaning time. Stopping plants from overcoming any lights by simply trimming some foliage here and there keeps your fixtures working brilliantly.
If ever you’re worried about the maintenance of your lights, give us a call. We’d be happy to work our makeover magic on your landscape as well. There is no doubt that any landscape can be invigorated and brought back to near mint condition with a little bit of cleaning and care.
